  1. Boo! Skulls and candles 7x5in black card with white insert

    Posted on

    Hi Craft addicts!

Still having great fun making cards for Halloween and here is the latest  one - very simple to make but is quite stylish (in a ghoulish sort of way).... To find out how I made it look below the pic!

GC 2019 - Halloween - BOO, Boo skull and crossbones 7x5in black card - PB,

    How I made this card:-

    • I first of all used the Spider's Web stamp from the Haunted House Stamp set from Rare Earth and stamped it directly on to each corner of a 5" x 7" black card (from the Core Collection by Create & Craft) using Versamark ink. I had used an Anti-static bag first to get rid of any grease etc.
    • I then covered the webs in Silver Embossing Powder and heat set them.
    • Once I had completed them all, I putto one side as I needed to cut out the Skulls circle frame out - this is the main die from Lynda Chapman's Paper Boutique Love the Bones of You set from Creative Crafting World.
    • I cut it out in white card and attached it to the centre of the card using PVA glue.
    • I then stamped out the Skull (with the candle) on to some white card using Gina K Obsidian Black ink and coloured it in using grey and a yellow alcohol markers. The stamp is from the Hubble Bubble set again from Rare Earth.
    • I felt it needed some form of sentiment so I stamped out the Boo on to some white card 3 times using Versamark ink and like the Spiders Webs, added some Silver Embossing Powder and heat set them.
    • I cut around them and stuck them to the Skull frame circle using PVA glue.
    • Finally, I added some foam pads to the Skull and Candle topper and placed it in the middle of the card.
    • I also added a white insert inside so there was room for a message.

And there you are a spooky card for Halloween that is simple to make!

  2. Happy Birthday 2 cats with wool 7x5in card

    Hi Craft addicts!

Today's card is a really simple but I think striking one and can be made very quickly! If you want to know then read on!

GC 2019 - Birthdays - Two cats with wool HB - Black n White monochrome 7x5i

    How I made this card:-

    • I masked off the centre part of a 7"x 5"white card (so many suppliers produce them but some appear thinner than others due to the way they are produced so I usually use Hunkydory or Creative Crafting World) using some masking tape.
    • I then used part of For the Love of Masks Distress Dots stencil and using Gina K's Obsidian Black ink, coloured through it several times until I was happy with the effect and let it dry a bit.
    • Once it was, I removed the tape carefully, making sure I didn't take any of the card away with the tape.
    • I put the cat stamp from Rare Earth's A4 Best Friends Forever set onto an acrylic block, inked it all overand stamped it in the centreof the card.
    • I then used some purple watercolour paints to colour in the wool.
    • Using the Happy Birthday words from Lawn Fawn's Happy Happy Happy Stamp set,I stamped it on to some white stamping card, again using the Obsidian ink from Gina K.
    • I then cut around it and stuck it to some black card using PVA glue and then cut around that.
    • I used foam pads to attach it to the top of the card.

And there you are, an easy card to make but if you would like to buy it then just go to my shop and type in GC00003.

  3. Happy Halloween Skulls, bats and eyeballs DL card

    Posted on

    Hi Craft Addicts!

I had a really great time making this card as it is quite different to my usual style! It is very easy to make and I hope you will carry on reading to find out how I did it!

GC 2019 - Halloween - Happy Halloween Skulls on Kraft Tag with eyes behind

    How I made this card:-

    • I first of all took a Kraft tag (medium size) and painted all over it using brown Mica paints so that it sparkled when dry!
    • I then took the plain skull from the Hubble Bubble Stamp set and stamped it three times on the card with black permanent ink.
    • I did wonder if the paint would "bleach" if i added some water and so I used a paintbrush to paint some of the areas out (and some worked better than others as you can see) but I must admit I like the effect as it does look as if the lifht is shining especially on the middle one!
    • I wasn't quite sure which size card to use but eventually decided on DL and so took a piece of light Kraft card and trimmed it so that it fitted the bottom 1/3rd and before sticking it down, I coloured the edges of it with the same brown Sparkle ink.
    • I then used the eyeball with wings stamp (from the same set as the skull) and stamped it in each corner, again with the same black ink. I also took the ink splat from the same set and stamped it in between them.
    • I took a red alcohol marker and coloured the eyeballs in and once done, used PVA glue to stick it down.
    • I stamped the bat at the top of the card using Black ink and then stamped the Happy Halloween sentiment on to some white card and trimmed it with a wavy edge.
    • I put some Rusty Hinge and Aged Mahogany Distress Crayons onto a glass mat and then painted the bat with them and let it dry for a bit.
    • I used foam pads to add the tag at a slight angle and then some more to add the sentiment.

And there you are.... a fun card to send out at Halloween!

  4. Woof... Hello Jack Russell Black and White A6 card

    Posted on

    Hi Craft addicts!

Today's card is a fun, quick and easy to make which was created using a few stamps, some ink and an a6 white card... if you would like to find out how to make it then read on!

GC 2019 - Hello - Jack Russell Woof Woof black n white A6 card - RE, ANstam

    How I made this card:-

    1. I first of all took a piece of white stamping card and trimmed it so that it fitted the front of an A6 white linen effect card leaving a narrow border around it.
    2. I then took the Jack Russell stamp from the Paws for Thought A4 stamp set from Rare Earth and stamped it in the bottom right hand corner with Gina K Obsidian Black ink.
    3. As this card is for #Monochromatic Monday, I didn't add much colour to it as all of the shading is already in place, but I did add some Black Sparkle pen to his noseand collar.
    4. I then took the Woof (from the same set) and stamped it three times, alternating the direction vertically down the left hand side.
    5. I also used the pawprint in the same kit and stamped that in between the Woof.
    6. I used a Hello sentiment (this one is from Altenew and is a mini stamp set and again using Gina K's Obsidian Black ink, stamped it above the dog's head.
    7. Finally, I edged the panel with a bright Blue alcohol marker and attached it to the front of the card with some PVA glue.

And there you are, a very quick and easy card to make that is fun to do and would be great to receive!
