  1. Hi Craft addicts!

These are practice pieces really as I was trying making my own tags and then see what I could do with them and voila! here are my gift tags....

Gift Tags or small cards 2019 - Set of 3 hand painted flowers and birds sha

    How I made this card:-

    • I first of all cut two ovals (approx 3.5" x 2.5") out in white card and scored a small flap at the top of one of them.
    • I then glued them together, making sure that the flap was at the top and then folded it back so it stood up properly.
    • I repeated this process for the two circles again in white card - the larger is 4" in diameter and the smaller one 2.5")
    • I used various stamps from the Sue Baker's Birds and Blossom stamp collection (there are also dies to go with them) and you can buy them on the Create & Craft website here
    • I first of all used one of the Hummingbirds and stamped it in Black ink (Gina K) on the oval card and then the flowers just beneath it. I also stamped the Smile sentiment above the bird, again using the same ink.
    • I used the Bird wreath stamp for the larger of the circle cards and one of the flower sprays for the smaller of the circles.I also added some butterflies to that one.
    • I also stamped the Smile sentiment on all of the cards.
    • I coloured all of the images in with watercolour paints (Kuretake's Gansai Tambi set and also Toni Darroch's Stamp by Me website

And there you are three easy and pretty gift tags that can be made in a matter of moments!

  2. Hi Craft addicts!

I had so much fun making this card and yes, I have used Peel Off stickers to create the main topper...if you want to know how I made it then read on!

GC 2019 - Hello - Hello You cats at window with hand painted bg C6 white li

    How I made this card:-

    • I first of all took the Cats in silhouette Peel Off sticker (which I got from Craft Creation ages ago and am not sure they are still available).
    • I then used Red, Yellow and Orange Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolour paints to colour in the background - as the Peel Off acted as a type of resist i wasn't too worried about going over the lines!
    • Once it was dry, I stuck it to a piece of Silver Mirri card and cut around it so that there was a very narrow border. I then attached that to some black card.
    • I also cut a panel of red and white diagonal striped paper (from Hunkydory's Colour Family paper pad) so that there was about 1/2" border on a C6 white linen effect card,
    • I edged it with a black alcohol marker and glued it to the card using Collall All Purpose Glue.
    • I then stuck the topper to the top half of the card using PVA glue.
    • I stamped the Hello You sentiment (which is from Creative Expressions) on to some black card using Versamark ink and added some True White Embossing powder and heat set it.
    • I then attached it to the bottom of the card with foam pads.

And there you are a bright and cheerful card that would be great to send to a friend just to say you are thinking of them.

Products you may need for this card:-

    • C6 White Linen effect card and envelope
    • Cats in silhouette peel off sticker
    • Sentiment stamps from Lisa Horton's Modern Classic set from Creative Expressions
    • Gansai Tambi Watercolour paints from Kuretake
    • Silver Mirri Card (from Hunkydory)
    • Black card from Lynda Chapman's World of Paper
    • Red and White paper from Hunkydory's Colour Family 8" paper pad
    • True White Embossing powder
    • Heat Gun
    • Foam pads
    • Collall All Purpose Glue
    • Cosmic Shimmer or Glue it (Pinflair) glue
  3. Hi Craft addicts!

Today's card is one I made using a panel of flowers which I painted myself using Acrylic paints - I have been playing with various media to see what effects they create...

GC 2019 - Good Luck - flowers, bee and sentiment C6 white linen effect card

    How I made this card:-

    • I made the floral panel using shades of yellow, orange and red acrylic paints to create the flower shapes and then left it to dry.
    • I also added some green and darker orange spots dotted around the design.
    • I used the Sheena Douglass Cartridge pen (you can buy it here from Create and Craft) to add definition to the flowers.
    • I then trimmed it so that it fitted the front of a C6 White Linen effect card, edging it with a black alcohol marker before sticking it down with some PVA glue.
    • I then cut out the bee topper using a die from Paper Boutique from Creative Crafting World (I am not sure if it is still available) using Black and Orange card - the former is Lynda Chapman's World of Paper and the Orange from Create & Craft's Core Collection which you can buy here.
    • I mat and layered them using the black outline with an orange body but you can of course do it the other way around!
    • I used foam pads to add it to the top right hand corner.
    • I stamped the Good Luck sentiment on to some black card (as above), having dusted it with an anti static pad first. I used Versamark ink and then Silver Embossing Powder and heat set it.
    • I cut out a narrow strip of the same orange card and edged it with a black alcohol marker and placed the sentiment in the middle of it (with very thin foam pads).
    • Finally, I added some dashed lines around the sentiment using a white Gel pen and then added some Black Nuvo drops on either side of it.

And there you are, a card that came out of me playing with paints!

  4. Hi Craft Addicts!

I had a really great time making this card as it is quite different to my usual style! It is very easy to make and I hope you will carry on reading to find out how I did it!

GC 2019 - Halloween - Happy Halloween Skulls on Kraft Tag with eyes behind

    How I made this card:-

    • I first of all took a Kraft tag (medium size) and painted all over it using brown Mica paints so that it sparkled when dry!
    • I then took the plain skull from the Hubble Bubble Stamp set and stamped it three times on the card with black permanent ink.
    • I did wonder if the paint would "bleach" if i added some water and so I used a paintbrush to paint some of the areas out (and some worked better than others as you can see) but I must admit I like the effect as it does look as if the lifht is shining especially on the middle one!
    • I wasn't quite sure which size card to use but eventually decided on DL and so took a piece of light Kraft card and trimmed it so that it fitted the bottom 1/3rd and before sticking it down, I coloured the edges of it with the same brown Sparkle ink.
    • I then used the eyeball with wings stamp (from the same set as the skull) and stamped it in each corner, again with the same black ink. I also took the ink splat from the same set and stamped it in between them.
    • I took a red alcohol marker and coloured the eyeballs in and once done, used PVA glue to stick it down.
    • I stamped the bat at the top of the card using Black ink and then stamped the Happy Halloween sentiment on to some white card and trimmed it with a wavy edge.
    • I put some Rusty Hinge and Aged Mahogany Distress Crayons onto a glass mat and then painted the bat with them and let it dry for a bit.
    • I used foam pads to add the tag at a slight angle and then some more to add the sentiment.

And there you are.... a fun card to send out at Halloween!
