  1. Hi Craft addicts!

Today's card is very much out of my comfort zone as I am not really a Pinky sort of person... but I did enjoy using the Sue Bake dies and stamps... To read how I made it look beneath the photo!

GC 2019 - Just Because - Smile Teatime bird and cup and saucer on 7x5in cre

    How I made this card:-

    • I first of all die cut the Bird and teacup image (Sue Baker's Bird and Blossoms Die and Stamp set - Tea Time) out twice, once in black card (Lynda Chapman's World of Paper) and another in white. It is a large die so you will need a larger die-cutting machine (A5 up)
    • I then coloured the white piece in using alcohol markers ( you can of course colour it in any way you want!)
    • I used a sheet of 8" pink paper (from the Colour Families paper pad range from Hunkydory) and trimmed it to fit the front of a 5" x 7" cream card (available from Create & Craft's Core Collection), leaving a narrow border all around it.
    • I stuck this down to the front of the card using a tape pen (I didn't use a wet glue as it sometimes shows through the card).
    • I used a PVA glue to stick the black topper to the card (towards the top of it) and then added the coloured in one to it slightly offsetting it so you can see some of the black.
    • I had also cut out two of the butterflies that come in the set in black and pink and added the black ones first to the card and then added the pink one on top of them as I thought they would get lost if I just used the latter.#
    • I stamped the Smile sentiment (from the same set) on to some black card using Versamark ink (having previously dusted the card with an anti-static pad), added some True White Embossing powder to it and then heat set it.
    • I cut it out in an oval wavy shape and then added it to the bottom right hand corner with some foam pads.
    • Finally, I added some black Nuvo Jewel drops to the left hand corner to balance it out.

  2. Hi Craft addicts!

Today's card is a very quick and easy one to make but looks quite good (I hope) - if you want to read how it was made see below!

GC 2019 - Hello - Flower frame with Hello sentiment in centre 4in white lin

    How I made this card:-

    • I used Gina K's Obsidian Black ink to stamp the smaller of the flower frames from Thirsty Brush (it doesn't have a name on it I am afraid) directly on to the front of a small white linen effect card. I did this as I wanted it to be slightly fuzzy.
    • I then used a mix of Watercolour paints and inks to colour it in - the leaves are coloured using Brea Reese's green inks and Kuretake Gansai Tambi to colour the rest.
    • Once it was dry, I then stamped the Hello sentiment (from the Modern Classic Sentiment set designed by Lisa Horton for Creative Expressions) on to some white card (this was pre cut) - I again used the Obsidian Black ink to do this.
    • I edged it with a bright blue alcohol marker and stuck it to the centre of the card using a tape pen.

And there you are, a card that you could make several of to give as a gift to someone for Christmas or as lovely Birthday present.

  3. I had great fun making this card and it is quite simple to make - just a few dies, a stamp and some inks! So if you want to find out how I made it... read on!

GC 2019 - Halloween - Chills n Thrills owl on branch on hc bg c6 card - RE,

    How I made this card:-

    • I first of all cut out the Moonlit Owl and Bats dies (from Sweet Dixie) in black card (Lynda Chapman's World of Paper).
    • I also cut out the Raven in black card from the Gravestone set, again from Sweet Dixie.
    • Using shades of Green inks (ink cubes/pads from Rare Earth, Tim Holtz Distress inks and Prism inks), I created an Ombre background effect.
    • I trimmed it so that it fitted an C6 white card (allowing for a narrow border all around), edged it with a black alcohol marker and attached it using PVA glue.
    • Once that was done, I then added some PVA glue to the back of the main topper and stuck it to the top of the card (some of the branches do hang over the side of the card).
    • I then stuck the bats, moon, clouds on to the card where I thought they would look right.
    • I used the Chills & Thrills stamp sentiment from Rare Earth's 6" Spooky Sentiments set and stamped it out on to some white card using Gina K's Obsidian Black ink.
    • I cut it out and then glued it to the bottom of the card and added another of the ravens to the C of Chills again with PVA glue.

And there you are, a really fun card that could be great to give for Halloween (you can also buy it in my shop GC00004).

  4. Hi Craft addicts!

Today's card is a really simple but I think striking one and can be made very quickly! If you want to know then read on!

GC 2019 - Birthdays - Two cats with wool HB - Black n White monochrome 7x5i

    How I made this card:-

    • I masked off the centre part of a 7"x 5"white card (so many suppliers produce them but some appear thinner than others due to the way they are produced so I usually use Hunkydory or Creative Crafting World) using some masking tape.
    • I then used part of For the Love of Masks Distress Dots stencil and using Gina K's Obsidian Black ink, coloured through it several times until I was happy with the effect and let it dry a bit.
    • Once it was, I removed the tape carefully, making sure I didn't take any of the card away with the tape.
    • I put the cat stamp from Rare Earth's A4 Best Friends Forever set onto an acrylic block, inked it all overand stamped it in the centreof the card.
    • I then used some purple watercolour paints to colour in the wool.
    • Using the Happy Birthday words from Lawn Fawn's Happy Happy Happy Stamp set,I stamped it on to some white stamping card, again using the Obsidian ink from Gina K.
    • I then cut around it and stuck it to some black card using PVA glue and then cut around that.
    • I used foam pads to attach it to the top of the card.

And there you are, an easy card to make but if you would like to buy it then just go to my shop and type in GC00003.
